A check of my blog stats for the past few months reveals that my most popular posts have been my book review on Camilla Lackberg’s Buried Angels and a rather general post on social media | Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, or Instagram?
I hope that my review on Buried Angels is because so many of you enjoy Camilla Lackberg’s writing as much as I do. I wrote a “quicky” review on Ice Princess as well. Camilla can tell a great story and I’m looking forward to reading more of her books over the next few months.
The social media post had me stumped for awhile. It doesn’t reveal any profound piece of wisdom or identify a great new trend yet it receives at least half a dozen views a day. All things being relative, for my blog, six is a pretty good number. I delved a little deeper and it appears that the image I included is the hook. Like me, people are looking for social media icons, I presume, to use in their blogs and articles. I found a variety and turned them into one bar image. It is easier to upload and landscape images fit well in a blog post. If you haven’t seen the post I’m referring to (link above), here is the image again.
This leads to my three tips for attracting audiences to your blog.
1. Reviews on popular authors, especially the good ones.
2. Posts with images on social media that have some practical use.
3. Check your statistics to see what topics are working for you.
